The last decade has witnessed a tremendous intoxication caused by the over-growth of algae on the surface of the lake Burley Griffin, in Canberra. This center aims to filter the lake water, avoiding algal blooms and producing biological products through the cultivation of microalgae. A living and colorful body which breathes and reduces the carbon footprint. Architecture and biotechnology merge, creating a large and fascinating treatment system which acts direct on an environmental problem and restores the ecosystem of Lake Burley Griffin.

Bio Architecture Center
This university campus was conceived for the 100 year vision strategy for Maribor, the 2012 european capital of culture. The idea was to create a campus based on the parametric semiology. The buildings with its shape and organizations create a clear patter which leads the users to the correct destination. The functions are made understandable by its curves, number of elements and orientation, leadind the guests also from the distance. The architecture became intuitive and familiar, from an urban scale to the details.

Exsurgi
This refuge - observatory is located on the highest point of an utopic mountain. The building is shaped like a rock, giving the experience to stay inside a mountain. The path of the mountain continues all around the building cutting the façade like a crevice until the cupola, the top of everything. The way to reach the cupola gives different views, different framings, different sensations. The surface are made of aluminium panels, making the building shining and visible from the distance. The inclination of the facade gives the impression to the user to be suspended in the air, creating a 360° experience.

OBSERVATORY
"SHINY ROCK"
Located in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, the project consists on a common space, which reflects the different aspects of Georgian culture and shows what the past was and what the future may be. The building takes place near the Parliament, a tipical Georgian building with a representative character: the democratic situation is placed under the eyes of politicians.
The aim was to "democratize" the architecture, breaking all the barriers tipical of the Soviet Union. This design shows how the mentality of the times changed the architecture: new times require new architecture.

Social Platform Tbilisi
The main idea was to create a dynamic self-sufficient swimming pool. The building lies over the landscape and the height differences are made tangible in the interior. Curved forms are present in the outdoor area, on the ramp indoors and again further into the outdoor area creating a direct connection between inside and outside. The “shell” is structured by bands, consisting of photovoltaic panels and translucent insulating glass panels . The photovoltaic panels follow the solar cycle, optimizing the collection of energy and offering different light perceptions in the inside.
